Dreams are powerful and they keep me believing what is possible. I am deeply inspired by Dr. MLK and the civil rights movement. This is an attempt to articulate my own DREAMS FOR NONSPEAKERS in solidarity with other marginalized groups.
Hope you enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed writing it
Poem
History is a work in progress for MLK’s dreams
Many of the oppressed vouch by its underlying themes
Essential, the trifecta of truth, peace and justice
What will we give to realize his dreams as is
Right at the very core of every non speaker
There exists a truth and justice seeker
Whose heart beats for the rally of the oppressed
Whose soul does not rest with justice surfaced
Poignant is this moment in the non speaker revolution
Possibilities limitless in this historic evolution
Millions remain on the margins voiceless
Rendering the graves of the MLKs restless
Lots of small but mighty voices are emerging
Meeting the clarion call for our belonging
Long live this honorable movement
No rest until justice pervades every moment
I have a dream
I have a dream that one day there will be no more voices in prison
I have a dream that one day our intelligence will be proved beyond reason
I have a dream that one day medicine is a more trusted friend
I have a dream that one day education has more to lend
I have a dream that one day spellers take the world by storm
I have a dream that one day ignorance is no longer the norm
I have a dream that one day listening does not have a face
I have a dream that one day the science keeps pace
I have a dream that one day there are no more puzzled looks
I have a dream that one day there echoes our voices in all nooks
I have a dream that one day there is no more dysregulation
I have a dream that one day thought of us invokes pure elation
I have a dream that one day loneliness is just a thing of the past
I have a dream that one day our opportunities are very vast
I have a dream that one day history is on our side
I have a dream that one day there is no stopping this tide
