Life is meaningless without connection. Point of loneliness tests purpose of life more than many other life pursuits. My friends love me and are very accepting of who I am. I have neurotypical friends that I literally grew up with. Recently I have acquired quite a number of neurodiverse friends. While the communication mechanisms and life experiences differ between these set of friends, they all offer me the same levels of understanding and companionship. They point me to the possibilities of life long relationships and inspire me with their own life learnings.

***Appetite for connections***

Love needs no language

Appetite for connections burn unabashedly, even as

The world is hard to gauge

Motor loops defy my heart

An unruly body defines my existence, hopefully

Love needs no language

Loneliness consumes lives long

Belonging, a perennial struggle

The world is hard to gauge

Peripheral glances that hardly register

Cheers and tears resounding in silence

Love needs no language

Lives not considered worthy

Crushing voices barely raised

The world is hard to gauge

Connections through struggles and solidarity

Giving to fulfill a life’s promise

Love needs no language even when

The world is hard to gauge
